At the April and September meetings of the Mengel Natural History Society
there is a
At the October meeting there is a SeedExchange & Give-away. These are mostly give-aways to the audience, but, as a thank you, those who bring something get to exchange first. Members with surplus native wild flowers, ferns, shrubs, etc. (or seeds) from their gardens bring them to share with the audience. Please participate if you can. This is an opportunity to enlarge your wild flower garden or help others get a start. There have been many fine plants at past meetings including Virginia bluebells, bloodroot, celandine poppy, jack-in-the-pulpit, wood fern, dogwood seedlings, blue-eyed grass, pawpaw, asters, and seeds of many species. The public is welcome at this program. The Mengel Natural History Society
meets at McConnell Hall, Nolde Environmental Education Center on PA-625 2 miles south of
PA-724.
We expect that all plants come from member's gardens, fields, and woods.
