Sightings in 2009 (Go to Lancaster Co. Butterfly Sightings) The butterfly species in bold have been seen in Berks County, Pennsylvania in 2009. There are records of 108 species for Berks County. The list below includes all those reported from 2003 through 2008, a total of 85 species. New species (not seen during 2003 - 2008) will be added in red. No doubt other species
will be present, but not seen. Some of the 108 species are historical records
and many are of strays not often found in the county. Ninety seven of the
one hundred eight species are known to have been seen in the past 40 years.
Three species were added to this list in 2008.
